Williamsburg                                                           Pictures & Video     Police Precinct #

I have not visited this area, but I have seen it recommended as a great neighborhood that is accessible to stores, laundry, supermarket, etc. with an easy commute to the city and low rent for a 1 bedroom (the price quoted in the article was $780 per month in the year 2005 another person said that price is too low and to expect around $1,200 per month.  A third person recommended this area for low rents, but also noted that after living there, there were some negatives which they did not detail.)

One of the most surprising things I've read about this neighborhood on the forums is that it is impossible to get Manhattan friends to take the train to visit you in this town.  Odd, but I've seen it written a few times by different people.  Something to think about.  Prices are said to be reasonable, but everyone warns that you must make sure you are within reasonable walking distance to the train.

A forum person who lives in NYC noted that Williamsburg was a very dirty place.  A 2007 poster noted another opinion that this neighborhood was trendy and expensive.
