West Village                                                           Pictures & Video     Police Precinct #
Hudson River and either Sixth Avenue or Seventh Avenue, extending from 14th Street down to Houston Street.  The West Village is the western part of Greenwich Village

Mom's Opinion?:  2009:  Now that I have had some time to spend in the West Village, it is still one of my favorite places in Manhattan.  Very beautiful, very safe, very hip.  One of the nicest places to live in Manhattan.  I understand the rentals are a little pricey here, but its great if you can find a good rental.

2008:  Love the West Village.  Expensive.  Streets are lined with great cars.  BMW, Volvo, Mercedes, etc.  Tree lined, cobble streets all the way down Greenwich Street (Not Avenue).  Safe.  Lots of restaurants.  Happening crowd.

This is a picture of the West Village.  This is one of the streets off of Greenwich Street.  Most of the streets are cobble stoned and tree lined, similar to this street.  Very clean and beautiful.
