SoHo                                                                                             Pictures & Video     Police Precinct #6
SoHo stands for South of Houston (Street) - Location:  Houston Street to the north, Lafayette Street on the east, canal Street on the south and Sixth Avenue of the West.  (Zip Code 10012, 10013, 10014)

Mom's Opinion?:  Shopping in Soho is DIVINE!  Bring lots of cash!  I feel very safe in SoHo.  Love the area.  VERY clean, upscale atmosphere.

The historic buildings are fun to look at too.

There is no better place to shop and dine on a beautiful summer day.  Quaint shops on cobble stoned streets, street vendors lining the streets, top designs, top galleries, beautiful people and just a great atmosphere.

Borough:  Manhattan

Atmosphere:  SoHo is known as a commercial neighborhood great for shopping.  Artists haven.  Galleries.  A lot of models live in SoHo.

Rental Range:

Subway Lines:  A, C, E to Canal or C, E to Spring, 1, 2, 3 to Houston, R, W to Prince, N, R, Q, W to Canal, 6 to Canal, 6 to Spring, J, M, Z to Canal

Attractions:  Guggenheim Museum SoHo (branch), Museum of African Art, New York City Fire Museum, Singer Building, Cast Iron buildings on Greene Street

Streets in SoHo:
King Street
Charlton Street - I gave it a C which means it looked very empty - not a lot there.  Would not look for housing on this street.
Vandam Street

Spring Street - One of my favorite streets.  Hint:  Every Saturday at Spring, between 6th & Varnick (toward the west side) you can get various free hair salon services (what is free varies from week to week) performed by students at the prestigious Aveda Institute of New York (233 Spring Street - thanks Rashida!!!)  so they can practice before they graduate.  Then move East toward Soho and dine and shop.  Lots of great shops and street vendors on this street.  Spring Street is my favorite street so far.  There is a Subay to the C & E between 5th & 6th.  Very cute street.

Dominick Street
Broome Street - Great Shopping on this street.

West Houston Street - Very Wide Street.  Four lanes of busy traffic.  Major road.
Jersey Street
Spring Street
Broome Street
Grand Street
Howard Street
Canal Street

Varnick Street - 7th Avenue turns into Varnick - Not my favorite street, but its fine to walk down.
Avenue of the Americas
Sullivan Street
Thompson Street
W. Broadway - Top designers and art galleries here: Ralph Lauren, Anthropology, Reiss London, Lisa Perry, Tahari, DKNY, French Connection and more.
Wooster Street - Beautiful - top of the line quality.  I give it an A.
Green Street - Beautiful - top of the line quality.  I give it an A.  Cobble Streets.
Mercer Street
Broadway
Crosby Street
Lafayette Street - Nice
Centre Street
Mulberry Street
Sixth Avenue
